Direct TV Created a Huge Lump on Our Sofa

There’s a huge lump on our living room sofa, and that lump is my husband. Ever since we signed up for and received DirecTV DVR, which allows us to digitally record up to 70 hours of programming, he won’t be moved. And don’t even think about getting the remote control out of his hands. He even hides it when he leaves so that he won’t have any problem watching the track and field games that he tapes when he gets home from work.

He thinks that I don’t know where he hides it, but I do and when he’s not here I enjoy my premium movie channels like HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Starz, and Encore. Each premium channel has a ton of different versions so that I have an incredible selection of great movies, both classics and new releases.

My daughter watches gymnastics meets and ice skating on the sports channels and my son likes the documentaries on the Discovery Times channel, the History Channel, and the Biography channel. They help him study.

Even the baby enjoys our DirecTV. She has no problem falling asleep when I put on the classical jazz station. When it’s play time, we love dancing to the Oldies station. There are over 100 different music channels to choose from and when we find a song we like, the artist and album are listed on the screen. There’s something for everyone with DirecTV – as long as my husband doesn’t find out that I know his hiding place for the remote control.
