Dish Network Sports Investors!
The self-proclaimed “Ayatollah of Customer Service Brouhaha”, Scott Z, is here once again to provide you with more silly encounters with customers of Dish Network TV.
For this entry, I’m going to discuss something about incorporating Dish Network viewing with that of investments. I know most of you instantly thought of the global financial markets. Sadly, I am not talking about financial channels such as Bloomberg, MSNBC, or even BBC.
Instead, this tale involves a lot of Dish Network Satellite sports channels and season passes such as that of the NBA, NFL, and the countless soccer leagues. Yes, sports betting!
Meet Frank from Memphis, Tennessee. He wanted the total package of Dish Network’s TV Sports Programming Package, from football to cricket to horse racing. Since he mentioned that he needed sports programming channels on multiple TV sets for his investments, I said to myself, “This guy has got to be an up and coming sports bookie.” Boy, was I so wrong!
He turned out to be just an avid sports bettor that had a vision. He believed that if he spread out small bets on multiple sports (instead of placing big bets on big games), he could minimize his chances of losing big. Of course, as a representative of Dish Network I was more than happy to accommodate his orders and inquiries.
Frank is an avid football fan all right, but he didn’t know much about other sports. His parting message to me was, “I can’t wait to have the Dish Network NBA League Pass! I will be riding my bets on Shaq and the Lakers all season long!”
Although that call was made back in 2004, almost everyone knew that Shaq was already traded to the Miami Heat. I wished him the best of luck on his new venture.
