Direct TV Customer with a Doggone Mess

Hi, there, Francesca Jones here. I just got off a satellite TV call with a really distraught older gentleman named, Henry. It seems that Henry was having a problem with his Direct TV dish – and Noodle. Noodle is the name of Henry’s dachshund, a small dog with a penchant for pacing.

Henry lives in a ranch style home in Arizona and his satellite dish is a little lower than most. He decided to keep it near the hose faucet. And the hose faucet he kept near the stake where Noodle’s yard leash was tied.

Henry often tied Noodle to the stake in the yard when he went to the grocery store or had an appointment of some kind. This morning, he had a dentist appointment and it took much longer than Henry anticipated. Henry didn’t return for hours and Noodle didn’t take it very well.

Noodle jumped and yipped and paced in circles while Henry was gone, until the 10 pound dachshund managed to get his very, very long yard leash tied in a very, very complicated knot – with him in the middle. Yes. Noodle was tied up to the Direct TV dish and Henry couldn’t figure out how to get the knot undone without damaging the satellite dish.

I re-assured Henry that untying Noodle from his satellite TV dish was no problem at all. I made sure Chad, our Direct TV repairman, was on the job.

“Henry,” I said, “Chad is a professional at extracting dachshunds from satellite dishes. Sit tight. We’re on the way.”
