He Gave Me Direct TV for Our 2nd Anniversary

So, on our 2 year wedding anniversary, our baby and I watched my husband leave for work. Before he drove off, he mentioned that I should look out for a “special delivery” and sped off before I could ask what it was.

All day long I tried to guess what this special delivery could be. I’ve been asking him for ages to get me one of those grilling machines. Maybe it was that. Could it be a dozen roses? Jewelry? A singing telegram? I smiled at the thought of my husband surprising me like this. I played with the baby while we waited for the doorbell to ring.

To my surprise, when it did finally ring, there was no floral arrangement or brown paper package in the delivery guy’s hands. Instead, there was a friendly installation professional telling me he was here to install my Direct TV.

At first, I was mad! What kind of an anniversary present was that? But it turned out to be the best anniversary gift I could have asked for. The installation took only a few minutes and it was ready to go! I had hundreds of great channels, a Direct TV DVR to record shows digitally, and a handy guide with detailed information about each program. Each show is also rated, which is something that is more and more important as the baby grows older. Plus there are a lot of great educational channels and children’s programming which she already appreciates.

The only problem is that the wallet I got for my husband as an anniversary gift pales in comparison!
